Nature conservation

Egyeskő is incorporated by the Békás-szoros – Nagyhagymás (Cheile Bicazului – Hăşmaş) National Park. This unique area of the Eastern Carpathians is the habitat of several rare and protected plant and animal species. Please take care for them during your hikes:

  • use the signed trails whenever possible
  • camp only at designated sites (Egyeskő refuge)
  • avoid putting up open fires
    (except for designated places)
  • do not disturb the tranquility of nature with loudness
  • refrain from collecting plants, flowers or other creatures
(a photograph will last much longer than a torn flower)
  • take you garbage back to town
(carrying downwards is easier than upwards, so there is no excuse for littering)

Summing up, be a gentle guest!

It might be unnecessary to mention, but it is strictly prohibited to ride the forest roads of the national park with motorized vehicles (independently from the number of their wheels).
